Youtube allowing politicians to purchase ad space on the platform
Youtube started to offer politicians to purchase advertisement apace on the platform for 2020 election.
"Google, which owns YouTube, has seen top politicians, including President Donald Trump and many of the forefront runners competing for the Democratic nomination, spend approximately $21.8 million in advertising on its platforms. Having access to top advertising spots on YouTube can be a major advantage for politicians."
I personally believe this will bring a big controversy, one main reason being that it could mean that the more money the (politicians) buyers have, the more chance they will be elected, as Youtube is now very much common. Money should not have the power in a political situation, though it is still a good idea for other markets like companies to use the ad space. I understand that Google wants to receive the big profit by doing so, but again, I am afraid that it will cause a problematic situation.

I sometimes watch Youtube videos and nowadays many people use it every day as their hobbies or commercial ways. I think Youtube might have a big impact on election if the system started. By the way, I have an advice about your post. You quoted an article from the Internet. So how about changing the font of quotation lines into italics? In that way, you could emphasize that is a quotation. Moreover, the readers can understand your post more clearly.
ReplyDeleteThank you, and yeah, your suggestion makes total sense, I will try to implement that.
DeleteYour post helps studying to know about changes of the world. I've never known that Youtube will support elections and politicians. In addition, your assertion is so clear and understandable, so every side can accept it. Your saying is so considerate and meaningful that your readers can also think about it later, but I found some words' mistake, so I want you to check your grammar and words before posting.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I appreciate that you read it carefully. I will try to tke a close look before posting. thanks.
DeleteIt's interesting that your writing seems to be evolving into something more of an OP/ED piece (opinion/ editorial piece) than an expose about technology. One thing you need to be careful of in that case, is to use different information sources. Your previous post and this one too uses The Verge as its source. If you cite only one source, and the same source, it would seem that your information might be biased and possibly plagiarized. Try to spread out your sources more.
ReplyDeleteI actually try to see other websites too, and I just do not refer to those sources, but yeah I think it would be better to refer to them all as well, thank you for the suggestion.
